In 2009, coincided with Fajr celebration, a private airline, ATA airline, was established in Iranian national aviation industry.
This establishment was in response to the demand of aviation industry's development and also the necessity for the revival of communication between the north west region to the other population centres, tourism, pilgrimage and economic centres of our motherland and other countries.
This significant project namely established an airline centred in Tabriz has been active since 2008 while the proposal was passed by provincial cabinet.

TEHRAN, Dec. 17 (MNA) – Iranian Captain Hooshang Shahbazi, who landed an Iran Air Boeing 727 plane without its front landing gear at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport on October 18, has launched an international campaign to condemn sanctions imposed upon the sale of civilian aircraft and spare parts to Iran.
